The University of Pittsburgh at Titusville will host an environmental film series.
The theme for the series will focus on various environmental issues facing our planet. The series opens with a film examining the worldwide implications of "peak oil." Next year, 2009, marks the sesquicentennial of the oil industry - an industry that began in Titusville 150 years ago and ushered in an age of unprecedented growth. Subsequent films will focus on global warming (crisis or scam?), the future of food production, and over population.
At the conclusion of each screening, the audience is encouraged to discuss what can be done, what should be done, and the consequences of inaction.
Discussions are scheduled every other Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Henne Auditorium.
