Scouts Fold 600 Flags For Soldiers
Contributed by: Angela Ellis on 9/25/2008

Cub Scout Pack 235 of Cambridge Springs with the help of other Packs in the Washinton Trail District and Girl Scout troop 30447 of Cambridge Springs helped fold 600 Pocket Flags for our troops being deployed to Iraq. Some were given to the soldiers at the Armory in Cambridge Springs Sept. 22 (Monday night). It was a memorable experience to see both the children's and soldier's faces a they were given the flag. The heart tug was the exchange of a handshake and a thank you.
What was left over from Monday night were taken to Mississippi where other soldiers will also receive.
With the flag was a note:

"A flag for your pocket so you can always carry a little piece of home.

We are praying for you and we are proud of you.

Thank you for defending our country and our freedom."

In the photo captioned "A smile exchange by military and Scout"...the soldier is my nephew. Thought it may be of interest that he is also an Executive within the boy scout organization. Thanks so much for this photo!
